IBO Player: setup and linking your subscription
Setting up IBO Player takes five steps: install the app, note the MAC address and Device Key it shows you, link the device on iboplayer.com and add your ZenderPoort details there as a playlist. Below is exactly what goes where.
What you need
Have this ready before you start. Activation goes much faster if the email with your login details is already open.
- A device with an internet connection: Smart TV, Fire TV Stick, Android TV box, phone or tablet
- The IBO Player app, free to download for your device
- The login details ZenderPoort emailed you: server URL, username and password
- A phone, tablet or computer to finish the activation on iboplayer.com
Setting up IBO Player in 5 steps
Work through the steps in this order. Steps 2 and 3 belong together: keep the app open on your TV while you activate on your phone.
Download IBO Player on your device
Search for IBO Player in your device's app store: the Google Play Store, the App Store, your Smart TV's own store, or the Amazon Appstore on a Fire TV Stick. If the app is not listed, go to iboplayer.com for the download links per device.
Open the app and write down the MAC address and Device Key
Start IBO Player. The home screen shows a MAC address and a Device Key. These two codes are unique to this device. Copy them down exactly as they appear on screen, including the colons in the MAC address.
Activate the device on iboplayer.com
On your phone or computer, go to iboplayer.com/device/login and enter the MAC address and the Device Key. Sign in to your IBO Player account, or create one, to link the device to your account.
Add your ZenderPoort subscription as a playlist
In the dashboard, choose '+Add XC Playlist' (Xtream Codes). Enter the server URL, username and password ZenderPoort sent you. Give the playlist a name you will recognise and save it.
Restart the app and start watching
Close IBO Player on your device completely and open it again. The app now loads the channels, movies and series. The first load usually takes thirty to sixty seconds.
What are the MAC address and the Device Key?
Two codes that often get mixed up. They do different things.
The MAC address is your device's hardware address. It consists of six pairs of characters separated by colons. This address is fixed: it stays the same if you reinstall the app. IBO Player uses it to recognise which device you are activating.
The Device Key is a code the app generates itself. It serves as one-time proof that you are physically at the device during activation. If you do not see a Device Key on the home screen, restart the app — it is fetched again at startup.
You enter both codes once on iboplayer.com. After that you do not need to keep them, but it is worth noting the MAC address down somewhere: if you ask us for help, that is the first thing we need.
Xtream Codes or M3U: which one do I pick?
The details we send you work either way. One route is preferred.
Choose Xtream Codes (in the app: '+Add XC Playlist'). You then fill in three separate fields: the server URL, your username and your password. This route gives you the movies, series and the TV guide alongside the live channels, and the app can refresh the list itself when channels are added.
An M3U link is a single long URL with your details already built into it. That works too, but you lose the TV guide and the split into movies and series. Only use this route if your player does not support Xtream Codes — VLC on a Windows PC or Mac, for example.
Troubleshooting
The messages we see most often, with the fix that works in practice.
The app says the MAC address is already in use
The device has been linked to an account before. Sign in to iboplayer.com with the account you used at the time and manage the device there. If you no longer know which account that was, send us the MAC address on WhatsApp.
Activation fails with 'device not found' or another error
Nine times out of ten a character has been copied wrong. Check the MAC address character by character — a 0 and an O, or a 1 and an I, are easy to mix up. Leave the app open on your device while you activate, so you can compare the codes side by side.
The playlist was added, but the channel list stays empty
Close the app completely and restart it — a new playlist is only read in at startup. If the list is still empty, check that you entered the details under 'Xtream Codes' and not under 'M3U'. The two fields look alike, but the details are not interchangeable.
The playlist disappeared after restarting the TV
The playlist lives in your IBO Player account, not on the device. If it disappears, the device has been unlinked from the account: repeat step 3 with the same MAC address. If this keeps happening, your device may be changing its MAC address. Get in touch with us if so.
The app works, but the picture stutters or drops out
That is a network or bandwidth issue, not a setup problem. Work through the steps in our guide on fixing buffering (Dutch).
